updates from my iphone

It has been a long time since I've updated this, because I really just have felt like I don't have anything to say. Now that so much time has past (we have been in Utah for over 4 MONTHS!) I'm not really sure where to start. I figured I would just share some pictures of what we have been up to since moving.

Grand Cayman Island Part II

I have been wanting to finish posting some pictures from our trip and here they are!
I'm having a lot of trouble with blogger tonight and have lost all patience, so the result is
a post with a lot of pictures in no particular order.
Oh well.
This trip was so much fun.
It feels like it was forever ago and I wish we could go back!
Since we rented a car, we were able to spend a lot of our days driving around and exploring different beaches and snorkel spots.
The snorkeling is so beautiful there, it really made us want to
get certified for scuba diving.
We also did a tour one day that took us to Star Fish Point and Sting Ray city.
The starfish were pretty cool to see just wandering around
in the clear water and the stingrays were so fun.
It was really weird because there are so many of the stingrays just swimming around
because they get fed.
We were told that when they swim past you, you should never lift your feet up to prevent getting stung. So you basically just had to walk around and then try
to stand still and not think about
how they are swimming so close.
They were even swimming up onto us (as in swimming off the sand bottom and covering you up to your waist with their stomaches). It was so cool!
You could hold them and let them suck food out of your hand.
One of the tour guides made me kiss one for 7 years of good luck.
I will keep you posted as to whether or not that is true.

Grand Cayman Island Part I

A few weeks ago, Morgan and I were able to spend a week in the Cayman Islands. It also happened to be over our 3 year anniversary, which was really fun. We have been really lucky and have spent lots of our anniversaries on the beach. We went to Belize for our honeymoon, and then for our first anniversary we took a break from our stay in Singapore and went to an island in Malaysia. I think in terms of the beach itself, this one was the best.
We were upgraded to an ocean front room so we could just walk out to the beach and we had a great view of the sunset every night
We spent most of our first day relaxing on the beach and snorkeling around on Seven Mile Beach.
This place was amazing, the water was beautiful, the sand was white, and the snorkeling was amazing.
On our second day we went fly fishing with a guide that Morgan found. Unfortunately, we didn't catch a single fish, but the views were still beautiful.

A whole lot of NEW

NEW BLOG! I got tired of the old one and it was mostly just used for my traveling purposes, so we're starting over.
We are also starting over in our new home, with our new jobs, in our new city, in our new state.
Morgan started his new job 3 weeks ago. I started my new job 1 week ago. Needless to say, Morgan, Gus, and I are adjusting well. We really like Dallas so far and living downtown has been a fun change-- although we probably had more fun when we were hanging out in Austin, San Antonio, and Myrtle beach with my family without a care in the world.
We also celebrated being best friends and doing this 2 years ago:

!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:):)

Everybody keeps asking us to take pictures of our new place, BUT the place isn't really all that ready to be photographed. We got everything (mostly) settled and unpacked within the week that we got here, but decorating is another story. All of our walls are concrete, which makes hanging most of the stuff we had before a bit difficult. So now i'm looking for alternatives. Since it's a different place than what we had before, some of our furniture needed to be changed up a bit. Thanks to Ikea and Craigslist (and also selling stuff on craigslist), we got some cool stuff for the place. (This, this, THIS, and this). My stepdad gifted us a nice table that he found at a garage sale. We had a very small table from when we moved into our first home and wanted to fill some space with a real one. Now we can have people over to eat with us, too! We wanted to replace the legs with pipes and luckily, he also had that. So being the awesome craftsman that they are John and Morgan made us this cool table and I love it!

We also refinished that rocking chair. My mom found it a long time ago and it has been sitting in their back yard. It was all rusty and had multiple layers of paint peeling off and such. I'm indecisive about the color of it-- I kind of want to change it. I should really just stick with it or make up my mind.

We invited the missionaries over for dinner in a couple of weeks, so now we actually are going to buy some chairs. This is the one we are eyeing down. And I am VERY excited.
We also painted when we first moved in. We did some of the living room walls grey and the kitchen a mint color. When I was looking at colors, I didn't want to get a grey that was too dark for the space (even though I wanted a darker grey) because there isn't a ton of lighting that comes in, so I picked a lighter one that ended up being way too light. I ALSO managed to get the kitchen color too light and not enough of it. So now the kitchen has been half painted for a few weeks and last night we just went back and got a new color and MORE of it. We will probably just redo the living room some other time.
Anyways, sorry for the delay, but pictures of the whole place will have to come once it's actually put together (or closer to it). Rest assured, I am decorating as you read.

The most exciting news around here is that my sister, Tara, just had her second baby, Hudson, on monday morning.
She is superwoman and with her first baby, Ellis, she did a natural birth in the hospital. This time she did an at home birth, which I think is awesome and so is she.

Now she has 2 cute red heads!
