Grand Cayman Island Part II

I have been wanting to finish posting some pictures from our trip and here they are!
I'm having a lot of trouble with blogger tonight and have lost all patience, so the result is
a post with a lot of pictures in no particular order.
Oh well.
This trip was so much fun.
It feels like it was forever ago and I wish we could go back!
Since we rented a car, we were able to spend a lot of our days driving around and exploring different beaches and snorkel spots.
The snorkeling is so beautiful there, it really made us want to
get certified for scuba diving.
We also did a tour one day that took us to Star Fish Point and Sting Ray city.
The starfish were pretty cool to see just wandering around
in the clear water and the stingrays were so fun.
It was really weird because there are so many of the stingrays just swimming around
because they get fed.
We were told that when they swim past you, you should never lift your feet up to prevent getting stung. So you basically just had to walk around and then try
to stand still and not think about
how they are swimming so close.
They were even swimming up onto us (as in swimming off the sand bottom and covering you up to your waist with their stomaches). It was so cool!
You could hold them and let them suck food out of your hand.
One of the tour guides made me kiss one for 7 years of good luck.
I will keep you posted as to whether or not that is true.

Grand Cayman Island Part I

A few weeks ago, Morgan and I were able to spend a week in the Cayman Islands. It also happened to be over our 3 year anniversary, which was really fun. We have been really lucky and have spent lots of our anniversaries on the beach. We went to Belize for our honeymoon, and then for our first anniversary we took a break from our stay in Singapore and went to an island in Malaysia. I think in terms of the beach itself, this one was the best.
We were upgraded to an ocean front room so we could just walk out to the beach and we had a great view of the sunset every night
We spent most of our first day relaxing on the beach and snorkeling around on Seven Mile Beach.
This place was amazing, the water was beautiful, the sand was white, and the snorkeling was amazing.
On our second day we went fly fishing with a guide that Morgan found. Unfortunately, we didn't catch a single fish, but the views were still beautiful.

the time we did everything

Last weekend we were able to make it back out to our friend's
family lake house at Possum Kingdom Lake.
The weather was perfect and they had finished building their brick
oven so we were able to make some really good pizza.
We spent Friday evening and Saturday playing lawn games, boating,
and enjoying eachother's company.
Saturday night we all drove back to Dallas to go to a Ranger's game
work event and afterwards we out to play laser tag and whirlyball.
This was our first time playing whirlyball and it was so fun!
We can't wait to go back.

beach time

For the 4th of July weekend we had a little family vacation in Port Aransas, it was so fun.
My parents divorced when I was 2 and my sister and I have been lucky enough to have the type of divorced parents that are really good friends and can spend holidays together.
And now vacation together. To be honest, this seemed like a stretch to me when we were trying to plan it.
But it was perfect.
My dad, stepmom, brother, mom, stepdad, sister, brother in law, 2 nephews, and morgan&i.
All in one house.
We spent our days at the pool and the beach, exactly how vacation should be.

CHICAGO

During my summer break from work, I got to go spend a couple weeks in Chicago where Morgan is working.
I spent the weekdays being lazy at the hotel waiting for Morgan to get out of work and the weekends were spent exploring Chicago.
Luckily for us, Morgan's work paid for our food and hotel stays, so we were able to stay right downtown and enjoy a lot delicious eats.
We basically loved EVERY place that we ate at. We tried The Girl and The Goat, Mity Nice, Lou Malnati's, RPM Italian, Pierrot Gourmet, and India House Restaurant.
We also bought a City Pass so that we could see some of the Chicago attractions. I think our favorite places to see were the Shedd Aquarium and the Museum of Science and Industry.
Of course, It was also fun just walking around and relaxing together.
We really loved Chicago.

staycation

This weekend we enjoyed a little staycay here in Dallas.
After a long work week with a lot of late hours for Morgan, he found out he was going to South Africa from Sunday through Friday.
So with the weekend coming up, we decided to pack our (small) bags and use some of our hotel points.
We really didn't do anything out of the ordinary that we couldn't have done by staying home.
But we enjoyed the weekend together without distractions.
We went out for a movie, walked around some stores, and enjoyed a few delicious meals.
There was a lot of laughing, joking, and relaxing.
Those were the parts that really made the weekend the best.

^already pinned Morgan's trip to South Africa

Lake>house

A couple weekends ago, Morgan and I decided to take a last minute trip out to Possum Kingdom Lake. One of Morgan's coworkers has a family lake house on an island there and invited a bunch of people from work to stay for the weekend.
The weather was perfect,
the company was great,
and the house was beautiful.
What more can you ask for?
