family and holidays and fun and such

thanksgiving went a little like this...

tuesday: I took the day off work so that we could expand our break and start out early on our drive to Iowa. On the drive, we stopped in Kansas City to have dinner with my old roommate, Leilani, who I haven't seen in years. It was fun to catch up and laugh about the ridiculous things we did as freshmen and sophmores together. Morgan did a little work on his computer on the drive and all the sudden we arrived to my sister's quiet apartment where all children were already sleeping.
Wednesday: We woke up bright and early and finally got to meet my new nephew, Hudson. I like him. He is cute. He is just a little chunky. He has a big smile. And he likes it when I hold him. We spent most of the day enjoying a lot of play time and cartoons with Ellis and holding Hudson.
Later that evening, Tara & I went grocery shopping for thanksgiving and started cooking for thursday. We stayed up way too late playing trivia pursuit and laughing.
Thanksgiving: Our day was filled with a lot of relaxing and great food and good company and a llooooottttt of leftovers. Tara & I ventured out thursday night for the beginning of black friday shopping at Target. After walking to the end of the huge line, deciding we didn't want to wait, driving away, deciding to go BACK to the line, getting inside, shopping around, and then after seeing the checkout line, we decided to leave empty handed.
We are not made for black friday shopping.
Friday: We all got out and went to zombie burger, where we enjoyed gourmet burgers and sweet potato fries, and then went to a local craft market, where I could have bought a little bit of everything.
We decided to to try black friday shopping again but ended up going to sephora and purchasing some items that weren't even on sale.
Later that night my mom & john arrived and us girls met up with some of tara's friends to see twilight.
Saturday: We got the kids all ready and went to an architectural salvage warehouse where we wandered around and looked at old stuff and enjoyed some of the most wonderful hot chocolate I've ever had.
Tara, my mom, & I searched around joann's and michaels for stuff to make ornaments and then we met up with the boys to have dinner.
Sunday: We all went to Tara & Damon's ward for Hudson's blessing and then spent the rest of the day relaxing, playing, and building gingerbread houses.
